Wildlife Habitat Crew
Autumn Through Early Spring
What we do...
- The Wildlife Habitat Team uses the considerable amounts of vegetation cut by the invasive plant removal crew to assemble the brush piles in parts of the park where natural cover is limited.
- The team of volunteers further cut the branches and limbs into smaller pieces and move them to assemble piles under the direction of the crew leader. - The piles serve as cover for birds and small animals, where they can rest, flee from predators, and establish nests. |
The team will be active mostly from fall to early spring, during and shortly after the invasive plant crew's active season. Tools are provided by FOCSP.
